Hi you lovely lot!
I am so sorry about my lack of posts I have been a very bad blogger but I’m back with vengeance so don’t you worry 😉
Basically this post is going to be a bit of a catch up as to what I’ve been up to and I hope you enjoy. Also since I’ve finished my era countdown of lovely ladies this blog is going to incorporate everything that I personally feel passionate about; we’re talking I want debates between ‘girly’ girls and the tomboys, I want to discuss body image, fashion, the media’s portrayal of women and of course I will always come back to my favourite topic of the timeless sensation that is the pin-up.
Christ I better get started then…
So my last post was regarding a past photoshoot I did, well I’ve done plenty more and with each shoot gathered tonnes of experience. Here’s just a selection of my favourite past shoots;
This is an image from my first lingerie shoot at Lickety Split (a local 50’s style ice cream palour) and this image is taken by Anth Short Photography. For this shoot I was so very nervous I nearly cancelled at the last moment but I modeled with the phenomenal Delilah Devil and she made me feel totally at ease.
Isn’t she just breathtaking?!
I also managed to model some wedding dresses (alternative of course)
I saw a casting call on a regional modelling facebook page for an event named The Alter-ed Ego Collaboration a creative child from Tyne the Knot. I offered my services and got to model at two of their official photoshoots (one above and one below) and their official event at the Discovery Museum. I got to work with some amazing creatives and models alike and it really gave me a boost to ‘go for it’. The above image is taken by Richard Powazynki and the below image is taken by Rebecca Raistrick. My makeup in both shoots was thanks to the talented Makeup by LEANNE and my hair in the above shot was by Bespoke Hairdressing by Michelle
These shoots made me feel invincible so I wanted to try a genre that I’ve always wanted to go for but never felt I could pull off. And that is latex. I talked to Anth Short about a latex shoot and he mentioned he was wanting to create a ‘Twisted Disney’ series and due to my new hair colour I was the perfect suitor for Cruella DeVille. Here’s a mini selection of the final images featuring my custom made latex dress from Violaceous Latex. The room shot was in Seaham Hall and my good god this room was out of this world I could run (and did run) laps in the place so overwhelmed. My hair was by Shear Madness hair design and my make up was by Maximillion Makeup and hair.
While I was cramming in shoots left right and centre, I was contacted by a girl I went to college with, for her photography degree she had to create a lingerie advert and she wanted it to be a pin-up style advert. I was nervous as my last lingerie shoot I wasn’t overly keen on the final images, I felt as if my nerves got the better of me so I was determined to ace this one. This image is taken by Katie Devine Photography.
Can you tell the difference?!
And now to my most recent pin up shoot, this was for House of Seduction and yet again I was bricking it. I did get to model with a friend and fellow model Kookie Katana. I loved this shoot so prepare for the image spam. These were all taken by Richard Shepard, hair by Bespoke hairdressing by Michelle and makeup by LEANNE.
Think I’ve progressed guys and girls? 🙂 The final image of that mini set is currently in a competition over here. Please like the image and help me win! 😀
I’ve also while writing this and collating the correct links for you guys have found that one of these images are featured of the official House of Seduction website!
I’m going to stop rambling now and thank each and every reader this post gets.
Oh and mini plug here, anyone who wants to view all my modelling work go ‘like’ my page over on Facebook.
Until later guys and gals!
Alexandra Justine xo
